We had a great time on our 3 day, 2 night Salar tour. We saw loads of amazing scenery, plants and animals. The Salar is absolutely amazing and you can see a lot in one day but on the 3 day tour you see so much more - the region has many other beautiful landscapes with fantastic scenery. We are 2 women and went on a private tour for just the 2 of us arranged by Nick and Caroline at at Nick's Adventures Bolivia. We were in a comfortable 4X4 car with an English speaking guide and a driver who spoke a small amount of English. Our driver Fabio drove really nicely and our guide Abel was brilliant, he had an extensive knowledge about the animals, plants and geology of the different areas and he also shared lots of cultural information - we learned loads! We got on really well with both of them and they were great fun which made the trip even more enjoyable. The 2 hotels we stayed in were really fancy, very comfortable (although the rooms were abit chilly so I did end up sleeping in my fleece!) and the food everywhere was great. The lunches are picnics provided by the guide and driver and they were really good. We brought lots of snacks for the car as the guide book had recommended but we didn't need them - although some chocolate and sweets are always nice to have for long journeys! I brought walking boots but I didn't wear them - comfortable walking shoes were enough. The first evening I started to suffer a bit from the altitude (strange because I had been at altitude for quite a few days before the trip began but I guess that happens sometimes) but our guide Abel found a doctor who happened to be staying at the same hotel, she gave me some drugs which worked almost immediately and so I was able to enjoy the rest of the trip (I would recommend bringing altitude drugs for trips to Bolivia, I was very lucky that the doctor happened to have some spare). After that Abel and Fabio were extra attentive to me, carrying my bags etc it was really sweet. We really felt lucky to have been with them on this amazing tour.
Anyway thanks so much to Nick and Carolina for organising the trip for us - definitely the trip of a lifetime.

My wife and I did the 3 day 2 night salt flats tour. We did the Spanish only tour as I am native speaker and my wife has a very good comprehension level. We had a fantastic experience. Our driver was a local with incredible knowledge of the area and he was able to adapt our tour on the fly given the weather conditions to make sure we had the best views and experiences. The tour was very well planned out and we often felt like we had certain sites/view points to ourselves. Lunches and dinners provided were fantastic and our accomodations were more than comfortable.

Nick and Carolina were great to work with and were super helpful as we planned out our excursion. They were very responsive, directly answered all of our questions, and were very receptive to feedback. We always felt that we had selected the best tour company for the salt flats. Even though the tour is pricier than other options we felt that the value was well worth it considering the driver, service, food, accomodation, and safety provided throughout.

Our only feedback was that it was not entirely clear to us that drivers and guides were separate or not both included. We understood the excursion as being a driver/guide in Spanish. While our driver was very knowledgeable we did have to drive a lot of the conversation and ask questions in order to get information about the places we visited. Regardless this did not diminish our overall experience.
