SUCRE RED FRONTED MACAW BIRDWATCHING TOUR

We will be visiting the surroundings of the Rio Chico and the mountains near the” Monte Willca” protected area. Around midday we will have the possibility to observe Eagles, hawks and maybe even an Andean Condor. We will easily see around 40 different species plus.

At 06:00 hrs we will pick you up from the hotel.
We will drive for about 45 minutes down from Sucre to a world class birding area.
In the warmer lower valleys, we have the chance to see different species of parakeets and sometimes even “Amazon” Parrots.
The TOP goal of today is of course to spot the endemic Red-fronted Macaw!!! There are not many left and they need urgently more protection which we are trying to get from the local Government through some of our volunteer activities.
In 2020 we were leading the Rio Grande team for a census while updating the numbers of Red-fronted Macaws in Bolivia.
